doge news, in your reader

Every part of the news tracker as a feed, in RSS 2.0, Atom 1.0 and JSON Feed 1.1. Feeds change when the wire, the news agent or the registry agents add something, and readers that support WebSub hear about it at once.

Download OPMLOPML with every project

OPML imports every feed below at once into Feedly, Inoreader, NetNewsWire and most other readers.

The tracker

The first address, /news/feed.xml, keeps working: it is the RSS of everything.

Topics

Topics are assigned by fixed rules from each headline and its teaser; the methodology lists them.

Projects

One feed per listed project: its registry events, the briefs and the wire headlines that name it. Each project page links its own.

For developers

Addresses
/feeds/<name>.xml (RSS 2.0), .atom (Atom 1.0) and .json (JSON Feed 1.1), with the names all, registry, briefs, wire; topics under /feeds/topics/<topic>; projects at /p/<slug>/feed.xml (Atom) and /p/<slug>/feed.json.
Updates
The wire runs every hour and the news agent every morning. Each feed names the WebSub hub https://pubsubhubbub.appspot.com/ in the document and in a Link header, and the hub is told when a feed gains entries. RSS carries <ttl>60</ttl>.
Caching
ETag and Last-Modified on every response; send If-None-Match or If-Modified-Since and an unchanged feed answers 304. Cache-Control: public, max-age=300, s-maxage=900. Any origin may read them (Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *).
Entries
Ids are stable tag URIs; RSS guids read dogecompass-<kind>-<id>. Wire entries link to the outlet's article, name the outlet as author and list the other outlets of the same story; briefs link to their page on DogeCompass and to the original. Each entry carries its topics and projects as categories.
