Privacy notice

Last updated 20 October 2026. This notice follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU GDPR.

Who is responsible

Swisscoast AG, Schindellegistrasse 73, 8808 Pfäffikon SZ, Switzerland, is responsible for the processing described here. Write to office@swisscoast.org with any privacy question or request.

When you visit the site

  • Our hosting provider records technical data for each request (IP address, browser, requested page, time and referring page) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this data to identify visitors.
  • We use no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies.
  • Your light or dark theme choice is stored in your own browser and is never sent to us.
  • Editors who sign in receive one functional cookie that keeps them signed in for up to eight hours.
  • Requests to the API, the RSS feed and llms.txt are handled like page visits.

Information about projects and the people behind them

  • We collect project information from public sources: project websites (including their terms and imprints), the official DogeOS directory and blog, public company registers, public blockchain data and news articles found through Google News.
  • We publish facts about projects and the entities that operate them. People are named only in a professional role, for example as officers of an operating company, and only from public registers or the project's own disclosures. We rely on the overriding public interest in knowing who stands behind crypto projects (FADP Art. 31) and, for people in the EU, on legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • We analyse who controls project smart contracts. We do not link wallet addresses to private individuals.
  • Anyone named on a project page can ask us to correct the information or object to its publication.

Automated processing and AI

  • Once a day an agent reads public pages with Firecrawl and uses Anthropic's Claude models to extract facts. Each extracted fact must quote its source word for word, and an editor approves it before it enters the registry.
  • The news agent searches Google News through SerpAPI and uses Claude to screen headlines and write short summaries in its own words, with a link to the original article. Summaries publish automatically after screening. Editors can correct or remove any item.
  • No decision with legal or similarly significant effects on a person is made automatically.

Service providers and countries

  • Vercel Inc. (USA): hosting and delivery. Our application runs in Frankfurt (EU).
  • Neon: database hosting in Frankfurt (EU).
  • Anthropic (Ireland and USA): AI processing of public web pages and articles.
  • Firecrawl, SideGuide Technologies Inc. (USA): fetching public web pages. It receives only the addresses of public pages.
  • SerpAPI LLC (USA): news search. It receives only search terms.

Data about visitors is processed only by our hosting provider. For transfers to the USA we use the safeguards the providers offer, such as the Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses, and we are completing these agreements with each provider.

How long we keep data

  • Hosting logs: only as long as our hosting provider keeps them for operation and security.
  • Registry facts and their evidence snapshots: as long as the fact is published, plus a log of every change.
  • News search results we have reviewed: kept so the same article is not processed twice.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, for correction or deletion, object to processing and, where the GDPR applies, ask for data portability. We answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, to your local supervisory authority.
