sybil policy

A Sybil is one person playing with many wallets. The stamps have no cash value, so there is little to farm; this policy keeps the leaderboard and the vault's count honest anyway.

What counts

  • One wallet is one player with one passport. Any wallet can sign in and collect stamps.
  • The leaderboard and the vault count only wallets with at least one transaction on the DogeOS testnet. We read the wallet's transaction count (its nonce) from the public testnet when it signs in, and again every hour while it is zero. Make one testnet transaction and the wallet counts.
  • One stamp per quest, the same for everyone: a wallet that holds more tokens or spends more earns nothing extra.

What we check

  • Every sign-in is a fresh signature over a one-use code from our server; a signature can't be reused or replayed.
  • Quizzes are checked on the server. You can answer 30 seconds after opening a question at the earliest, and a wrong answer waits 15 seconds, then longer, before the next try.
  • Impostor reports are decided by the review agent on what the agents observe themselves. A wallet can send 3 reports an hour and 10 a day; a connection 20 a day. Only the first report of an impostor counts.
  • Sign-in codes are limited to 30 per connection every 10 minutes.
  • For rate limits we keep a one-way hash of your IP address, never the address itself (see the privacy notice).
  • When you sign in, a cookie holds a random browser identifier, limited to the campaign pages. We keep only a keyed hash of it and of your IP address, for the fair-play check below, and delete them 90 days after the campaign ends. No fingerprinting, no tracking across sites.

How we spot one player with many wallets

An automated fair-play check gives every wallet an internal trust score and recomputes it every 15 minutes by fixed rules. Scores are never published. It looks at three families of signals:

  • The wallet's history on the public DogeOS testnet: how long it has existed, how much it has been used and how many different apps it has used, which address first funded it and where its funds go. Public faucets count as neutral, and tiny "dust" transfers, which anyone can send to anyone, are ignored.
  • How the wallet plays: bursts of new wallets signing in together, several wallets used from one browser or one connection, quiz answers that arrive right at the end of the reading time, the same wrong answers as other wallets, and impostor reports that are repeatedly rejected or duplicates.
  • Links between wallets: wallets that share a funder, a browser or an address their funds are swept to form a group.

Good signs count too: a wallet with real history and varied use, and impostor reports the agents accepted.

What we commit to

  • Nobody is left out on behaviour alone. A wallet is left out only when it is linked to other wallets, or it belongs to a large group linked by a common funder, a browser or a sweep address.
  • A shared home, office or public connection on its own never leaves anyone out.
  • We publish the families of signals, not the thresholds or weights, so they can't be gamed. They are the same for every wallet.
  • Nothing here stops you from playing. A wallet that is left out can still sign in, do quests and earn stamps, and its stamps are still minted: it just doesn't appear on the leaderboard and doesn't count for the vault.
  • The check runs again as wallets change, and restores a wallet on its own when the signals clear.
  • Our editors oversee the check: they can look at a wallet's evidence and take it off the leaderboard or put it back, always with a recorded reason. Every decision, by the check or by a person, is logged.

What we don't do

  • We never ask for a transaction, an approval, a seed phrase or a private key. Signing in is a signature only.
  • We don't ask for your name, e-mail or social accounts, and we don't track you across sites.
  • We don't weigh players by wallet balance, and there are no chance-based rewards.

If you think we got it wrong

A rejected impostor report can be sent back for a second look from the report page, with your explanation. If your wallet isn't ranked and you think it should be, write to office@swisscoast.ch with your wallet address and anything that helps (for example, that a family member plays from the same computer). A person reviews the evidence and puts the wallet back when the check got it wrong; we answer within 30 days. For anything else, use the dispute form. Read the campaign terms too.

no token. no cash value. nothing promised.
